What we clean
Elite Jetwashing Services cleans tarmac and asphalt surfaces of every size across Bolton and the North West:
- Tarmac and asphalt driveways
- Tarmac paths and walkways
- Shared and communal tarmac areas
- Faded, greying and heavily soiled tarmac
- Surfaces overrun with moss, weeds and green algae
How we do it
- Condition check. Tarmac is softer than block paving or concrete, so we look at the age and state of the surface first and set the pressure to match. It needs enough to clean the surface properly, but not so much that it lifts the stone.
- Weed and moss removal. Growth pushing up through the surface is cleared out by hand and lance before we wash.
- Controlled pressure wash. We clean with a moving fan spray at a moderate pressure, never a lingering high-powered jet, so grime, algae and the green film come off while the tarmac stays intact.
- Oil and stain treatment. A targeted degreaser breaks down oil marks; fresh stains usually lift, older ones fade.
- Rinse and tidy. The whole area is rinsed down and the site left clean and tidy. We take before and after photos on every job.
Why it matters
Left alone, tarmac greys, grows a slippery film of green algae and lets moss and weeds root through the cracks, which is an eyesore and a slip hazard by the front door. Jet washing it on full power makes things worse: tarmac is a soft, bitumen-bound surface, and too much pressure loosens the stone chippings and leaves it pitted and patchy. The right approach is controlled pressure washing with a fan spray, which clears the moss and algae and brings back a clean, even, dark finish without damaging the surface. If your tarmac drive in Bolton or Greater Manchester has gone green or grey, in most cases it can be cleaned rather than replaced.
